Frequently Asked Questions

How are the maps made?

We glean elevation and topography information from a number of sources. That information is used to create digital models which can then be converted into templates before being cut out. Once cut out, each of the individual layers of our topographic maps are stacked and adhered one on top of another revealing the true to life relief of the landscape.

When will I receive my order?

We make all of our products to order. For this reason, most orders ship within two to three weeks of when they are placed. If you are ordering a fully custom map, however, we’ll need to get the details hammered-out first and it may take a little bit longer. Rest assured that we will be with you every step of the way!

What materials do you use?

For our maps, we use thin sheets of either cherry or maple wood. These thin sheets of wood are then mounted onto either clear or teal acrylic, depending on the product. We are extremely proud to source all of our material from independent, domestic suppliers.

Do you do all of your own framing?

Yes! All of our farming is done in-house from our studio in Rochester. Our Picture Framer has a decade of experience and uses acid-free archival quality materials which means your map will be preserved for years to come.
