Commissioning custom art made simple

  • Order proof

    Use our visualizer to build your custom map preview and submit your request. We'll review your submission and fine tune a proof based on your specifications.

  • Approve Proof

    You'll receive an email from us in 3 business days with the proof and invoice. Pricing is dependent on the complexity of the map. Paying the invoice approves the proof and adds your order to the production queue.

  • Production

    Our maps are constructed in our Pittsburgh studio out of precisely cut layers of wood. The layers are assembled and finished by hand and the map is professionally framed in house so it’s ready to hang. Upon completion the map will be shipped to you.

What is the fluff?

Our special blend of faux foliage is a spongy material that's also used on model train sets.

How long will it take to receive the map?

Turnaround time is dependent on how busy things are at the studio. It can take anywhere between 6 - 12 weeks. Response time to questions and payment requests can affect the timeline.

If you'd like your map by a specific date, add that information into the notes and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Whats the difference between this preview and the digital proof?

Our web based preview generator is meant to help you choose the specific area of interest and material options.

The digital proof we'll create based on that takes into account things like your order notes or marker choices that don't automatically update in the preview. It also lets us verify that all of the pieces and fluffy areas are large enough to include. Anything smaller than .25" (about the size of a pea) is too tiny for our little fingers.

Can I make changes after submitting my request?

The initial proof you receive is based on the info from this form. If you forgot something, send an email and we'll take that into account!
Once the proof is sent to you, two rounds of edits are included. Additional edits may add charges to cover time spent on changes.
