February 2024 was a busy month for the butthole window on Penn Ave, an IYKYK* Pittsburgh easter egg by Children's Hospital. Like many an east-end traveler, I passed this window countless times. I always giggled to myself about the perfect way the round curtain sat inside the window.
The fact that the Butthole Window made it into the Squirrel Hill Design & Craft landmarks is no surprise. What was a surprise is that in the same week that I finally finished the design and got started on these stickers, the brick around the window was graffitied (in case you hadn't noticed it previously). And a mere two days after I had these new stickers in hand, the building was torn down, and butthole window is no more. Honor the window like those who put together the shrine with your own magnet or sticker.
