Bill Dollarsaurus

At the corner of Penn and South Braddock—where Point Breeze, Point Breeze North, and Wilkinsburg meet—stands one of Pittsburgh’s most recognizable dinos: Bill Dollarsaurus. Originally painted like a pink piggy bank by Dymun + Company for Dollar Bank during the Carnegie Museum’s 2003 DinoMite Days, this Triceratops has long served as a quirky neighborhood landmark (and my personal go-to for giving directions).
In recent years, he got a fresh new look thanks to a collaboration between Shady Lane School and artists Max Gonzales and Shane Pilster. The vibrant redesign celebrates joy, belonging, and youth, reflecting the school’s mission and the community’s spirit.
